Javier Zanetti, born on 10 August 1973 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is widely regarded as one of the most consistent and versatile footballers of his generation. Renowned for his professionalism, leadership, and longevity, Zanetti spent the majority of his illustrious career at Inter Milan, where he played from 1995 to 2014. Capable of performing as a right-back, left-back, or midfielder, he became the cornerstone of Inter’s defence and a symbol of loyalty, eventually captaining the club for over a decade. During his time with Inter, Zanetti made more than 850 appearances, winning numerous titles, including five Serie A championships, four Coppa Italia trophies, and the 2010 UEFA Champions League under José Mourinho. Known for his exceptional stamina, tactical intelligence, and humility, Zanetti also earned 143 caps for Argentina, representing his country in multiple World Cups and Copa América tournaments. After retiring, he transitioned into an executive role as Inter’s vice-president, continuing to embody the values of dedication and integrity that defined his playing career.
